PHARR, TEXAS - The City of Pharr hosted its Start of the Produce Season 2025-26 celebration recently.
One of the speakers was Dante Galeazzi, president and CEO of the Texas International Produce Association.
Galeazzi pointed out that 22 million pounds of fresh produce crosses the Pharr International Bridge every day.
“We are feeding not one, not two, but three nations,” Galeazzi said, from the podium. “The produce here is coming from Mexico for communities far and wide, across this entire continent, but most importantly, the produce that comes through this bridge helps our communities here. It provides jobs, it provides business, it provides growth.”
