We are excited to announce that Saronic Technologies has officially broken ground on Port Alpha. This major milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for Cameron County and South Texas, expanding our industrial and technological base to build the next generation of autonomous maritime capabilities.
The significance of the project to both economy and national security was highlighted by very distinguished group of speakers, including Vice President JD Vance, Governor Greg Abbott, County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr., Congressman Vicente Gonzalez, Congressman Nathaniel Moran, Under Secretary of Commerce William Kimmitt, and Director Russell Vought, Office of Management and Budget.
Port Alpha represents $3.2 billion in Capital Investment with an expected economic impact of $160 billion in Cameron County, and $264.5 billion in the State of Texas. With the creation of 10,000 direct jobs within the next 10 years, Port Alpha is one of the largest economic development projects in Texas history.
Port of Brownsville - Texas in Cameron County was chosen for its strategic location, skilled workforce, commitment to infrastructure, and the land scale that provides a possibility to expand from the current 835 acres to 4,400 acres.
Local Businesses, like event caterer Jolie Petite, already benefit from Saronic Technologies establishing its shipyard in Port of Brownsville.
